Dry vs. Wet Tanning |
Wet tanning consists of processing animal skins to the point where the skins are ready to mounted or shaped, while in this condition. Dry tanning, or what we consider "full dress" (a complete process) consists of wet tanning plus lubrication of the skins which allows for mounting or shaping at a later date, avoiding the necessity to work the skins immediately. Please note, dry tanning (full dress) means that your pelts can also be used for any other application other than taxidermy; such as for fashion or interior design applications. Please see our section on what you can do with your furs.
